(Into the Jungle: Part I | Part II | Part III)
It was my first time to Langkawi but I definitely hope it wasn’t my last. At the resort I was told there were guests from as far as Europe who would return every year. I can see why; the mysterious rainforest always has a surprise or two in store, and I just can’t wait to go back to visit my monkey friends. To wrap this up, here are a few photos from my brief trip!
Rainforest inside The Datai Langkawi
Dusky leaf monkey can’t stop nomming!
Still munching on leaves up there
Must be great at yoga!
Just swinging by
Irshad the naturalist
Getting up early for the morning nature walk
Where we stayed
This tree frog totally reminds me of the chocolate frog from Harry Potter one, you know, the train scene?
Another tree frog
The butterflies in the previous pics are on top of one of the trees here
The Datai Spa
They know what personal space is
At least half a meter apart!
Just kidding… why are you looking at us?
Also known as the Spectacled Langur
Patient frog waiting for food
Many patient frogs
Just checking out my property
Let’s look there because a foolish human is trying to take pics of us
It’s very difficult to photograph squirrels because they’re so fast! This blurry pic of the giant squirrel is the best one I’ve got…
Colugo about to sleep
Guessing this is a copper-throated sunbird?
…and this a dark-necked tailorbird?
The Datai Bay
On the way to SkyCab – don’t waste time at this tourist trap around the cable car station though
Was a little foggy going up
But it got better!
The SkyBridge, which is 2,170 ft above sea level
Wildlife abounds even up here
Can’t even see the bottom
Gunung Mat Chinchang
On the way up we could see the waterfalls from a distance
This is how a macaque makes a face
Just hanging around
This one is looking a little sad
When you can’t tell where the ocean ends and where the sky begins…
Look at those rivers!
